TyShawn is a dedicated attorney with a passion for litigation, public service, and justice. Coming from an economically disadvantaged background and homelessness, he developed a passion for addressing systemic inequities through law and leverages his skills and experiences to build a legal career dedicated to equity and systemic change.
TyShawn earned his B.A. in Political Science from the esteemed Historically Black College, Morehouse College, and then earned his Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law. TyShawn recently further advanced his legal expertise at George Washington University Law School, where he earned a Master of Law in Energy and Environmental Law as a Randolph Shaw Environmental Law Scholar.
TyShawn’s professional career covers a range of impact-based roles. As an Assistant Deputy Public Defender in Camden, New Jersey, he represented indigent clients in felony cases, zealously advocating for fair outcomes and protecting client rights. While serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, TyShawn honed his legal strategy and trial preparation skills while assisting with family violence, sexual assault, Gagnon hearings, and municipal court cases. TyShawn practice consist of Litigation, Student Defense, Professional Liability, Personal Injury and Criminal matters.
