Nawal Ramay is a Law Clerk with a strong background in antitrust litigation, corporate law, and civil litigation. She holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, where she was a staff editor for the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law and participated in the Global Law and Business Seminar focusing on cross-border M&A deals under New York law. She earned her LL.B. with from the University of London International Programmes, where she was actively involved in International Moot Court competitions and Law Review publications.
Before transitioning into U.S. legal practice, Nawal served as a Judicial Clerk at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, where she worked under two Justices: the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the first female Supreme Court Justice of Pakistan, Justice Ayesha Malik. In these roles, she conducted legal research, assisted in drafting judgments, and prepared bench memorandums on critical areas of law, including constitutional, tax, competition laws. She also contributed to legal policy initiatives through her work for the Chief Justice with the National Judicial Policy Making Committee and the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan.
In the U.S., Nawal gained experience as a Research Assistant at for Professor Steven Tepper (retired Arnold & Porter partner) in preparing an expert report for a high-stakes lawsuit involving M&A, antitrust, and legal malpractice. She further honed his litigation skills as a Summer Legal Intern at Mungo & Mungo LLP, where she drafted motions and prepared legal research memoranda on employment law and civil rights issues.
In addition to her legal experience, Nawal is deeply engaged in pro bono and research activities. She has served as Director of Research & Publications at the Research Center on International Law and Human Rights and has provided pro bono legal assistance to underserved communities. She is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi and has a working knowledge of Arabic.
